Background Story:

Rosalie is a close friend of mine - she's young, outgoing and beautiful, and the time spent together with her always seems to be active and joyful.

 

During Chinese New Year time in 2021, Rosalie wanted me to make a portrait for her as a gift to herself. For a person who has never drawn portraits of people before, it would be quite a challenging task. All of the facial and body details on the portrait must be more or less identical with the actual person, as any slight difference can and will completely change the tone. For a second, I hesitated, but given my adventurous nature and the fact that it is an amazing opportunity to improve my painting skills, I gladly accepted the challenge. During the process, I had several discussions with Rosalie, after which, a few revisions had been made. At last, I had created a final piece that we were both entirely satisfied with.

 

Painting is like a lonely choice, you’ll feel accomplished only when you meet the person who understands your art. I am very grateful to Rosalie and other friends around me for their patience and support. I hope this wonderful gift will bring more happiness and memories to my lovely Rosalie.
