Background Story:

I met Evan at a business networking event around Christmas time in 2020. He came from the US and has been living in Shenzhen for quite a long time together with his lovely family. I can certainly tell that Evan carries himself as a warm and loving person from his words. As we were getting to know each other, I realized that he had a unique perspective on art, so I showed Evan my artwork. He expressed surprise when he saw them and thought, “Why not let Fendi draw an excellent Christmas gift for my family?”. I was honored by the request to make a portrait of a special family member - Sven, their dog - who has been with them for 7 years.

 

When I was creating the piece, I was totally immersed in it, and my concentration on the tiniest details of the artwork was more determined than ever before, as if Sven had been living with me for a long time as well. Evan was thrilled to receive it as a present on Christmas Eve. He said that his whole family loved it and that they were stunned by the look of the portrait of Sven, and in exchange, he sent me some of his family pictures.

 

I was overwhelmed with a sense of accomplishment by their affirmation, which was also a precious Christmas gift for me! Last but not least, may art brings joy to all of you as well.
